Liverpool opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Mohamed Salah, who converted a penalty after Chelsea’s Levi Colwill was judged to have handled the ball. Chelsea equalized in the 48th minute via a strike from midfielder Moisés Caicedo.

Liverpool secured the win in the 74th minute when substitute Curtis Jones finished a rebound after Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez parried a Darwin Núñez header.

“We knew it would be tough, but the players showed great character,” Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp told BBC Sport.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca said, “We competed well, but we need to be more clinical in both boxes,” according to Sky Sports.
The result leaves Liverpool on 21 points from eight matches, two ahead of second-placed Manchester City. Chelsea remain in sixth place with 14 points.
The Premier League continues next weekend. Liverpool travel to Brighton on Saturday, while Chelsea host Newcastle United on Sunday.
